The movie takes place in 1984, during the reign of Margaret Thatcher and in the midst of the miners’ strike. Pride tells about a group of gay and lesbian people who participated in the London gay parade. They decided to raise money to support the families of striking miners. When the union miners shy to take the funds collected from the hands of the representatives of different sexual orientation, they don’t give up and went to the mining town located in Wales to personally carry out an act of charity.
